Help us improve Indiahikes website experince

Our best ideas come from trekkers like you. If there's a feature or improvement you'd love to see, share it with us; we'd love to build it.

Option to add more trek friends to our registered trek.

When we register for any trek (individually or as a group), there is no feature to add more trek friends for the same trek, once the booking is done. I feel that option should be made available. At times we book treks well in advance and many times we come across friends who are interested to join but can’t confirm well in advance. This feature can help to add trek friends to the same trek and batch. Especially for first time trekkers, it becomes easier if their experienced trek friend can do the registration part for them by just adding to the group.

Ability to add trek date and trek prep milestones to Google Calendar or download an iCal file

Every booked trek can get added to our personal Google Calendar with key prep milestones also added into it…will help in better tracking and prepping . We should also be able to download it as a PDF as prepping guide

Notify Me When Seats Are Filling Up

I would love to see a "Notify Me" feature for trek bookings. When booking far in advance, there are often plenty of slots available, and I would prefer to wait rather than booking immediately. Having the option to receive an alert when only a few seats are left would allow me to book closer to the trek date with confidence.

Using bluetooth mesh technology for communication in the upcoming mobile app

There are apps available that allow you to communicate without any cell range or wifi availability upto 50m’s, and use other mobiles to relay your messages if there’s any other mobile available within 50 metres which have the app as an intermediate node. Applicability: In treks where you visit remote locations or trek through valleys, you will find that we often don’t get cell range. People in the group who’re trekking together will be added to a temporary chat in the app, and it will resort to bluetooth mesh communication if no cell range is available to relay messages to other group members farther ahead or farther behind. I’d be happy to help if you want to discuss more or need help in implementing this in your app

Just an idea, and I am ready to volunteer

A lot of first time trekkers have a truckload of doubts they want to clear, there are so many myths about trekking that drive so many potential trekkers away. I suggest that you should have a list of pro trekkers (ppl who have trekked at least 4/5 times with indiahikes) for every city possible who are available to meet such potential first timers to clear their doubts in person. I think this will really help in bringing more first timers for India hikes trek. We can also tell them a little about the indiahikes way of trekking. Anyways I am a core Indiahiker at heart and I never would want to experiment with any other organisation now that I am so habituated with IH. I think If you find enough volunteers, this can be a great idea.

Can't use two vouchers to book a trek

Dear Indiahikes Team, I currently have two vouchers: ₹3,800 voucher, expiring in April 2027 ₹19,000 voucher, expiring in September 2027 While making a booking, I noticed that the system does not allow the use of both vouchers in a single transaction. I had to contact the Indiahikes team to have the vouchers combined before I could use them for a booking. I kindly request you to make an arrangement that allows multiple vouchers to be used in a single booking. This would make the booking process much smoother and eliminate the need for manual intervention each time.

Booking a waitlist slot is limited to a single date

Hey, I’m trying to reserve the Aancha Top trek for either 26 or 27 December. Both dates are full, though waitlisted spots are open. I hoped to join the waitlist for both to improve my odds, but the app permits only one. I believe allowing multiple entries would raise the chance of securing a place, just a thought

Customised Souvenir (Trek Completion)

For every trek a trekker completes, they receive a customised souvenir unique to that trek, a medal, badge, flag, patch, or keepsake inspired by the trail. Because every summit deserves something more tangible than a photo in the camera roll. A memory you can hold, not just post :) posted this without signing in. so posting again from my acc

Pictures of technically difficult sections on the trail

If Indiahikes could add pictures/videos of difficult sections of the trail so that we sign up only if we are mentally prepared to accept that level of challenge

Show “How Crowded Is It” rating on each trek's page.

There can be an option for people to see how crowded a trek gets because of other companies also providing trekking facilities. You can add a rating to show users. For example, Hampta Pass can have crowded rating as 4/5 KGL can have “How Crowded Is It” rating as 4/5 EBC can have “How Crowded Is It” rating as 5/5 Pir Panjal Lakes Trek can have “How Crowded Is It” rating as 1/5

Chatru Campsite - Hampta Pass

I would like to request if it is possible to change the campsite at Chatru during the Hampta Pass trek. The last 1–2 km to the campsite involves walking along the road, where there is a lot of dust due to continuous vehicle movement, and I found it somewhat risky. I also have a dust allergy, so walking through this stretch caused discomfort. If possible, I would really appreciate an alternative campsite that avoids this road stretch.

Sleeping Mattress

I know that indiahikes has 2-3 layers of foam inside the tent, but an option to rent some good inflatable mattress would be good. this could be reserved for people who have any history of backpain or other injury that makes it difficult for them to sleep on uneven floor. for ex, people with disc bulge or slipped disc who are cured of the pain might have pain if they sleep on uneven floors. a good inflatable mattress can help a lot of people. ans since they are expensive, a rental option will be great.

Mail series addition

In the #15 series of mails that you guys send to the trekkers post booking, would be helpful to have 1 such mail which contains the details that we can share with our family / friends so they're aware of our whereabouts during the trek. The mail could be structured to include: Day-wise itinerary (for the exact dates chosen by the trekker). Emergency contact details in the trek team / Indiahikes coordination team ( for contact in case of any emergency/ enquiry of whereabouts during times of natural disaster etc). Had an instance of earthquake in Dharamshala during my Buran Ghati trek where my family had to search up contacts from every corner of the website and were met with no response. Transport booking details (pickup & drop location etc) Any such info that is reasonable for friends/family to know about during the duration of the trek.

Multi-factor trek search

Currently we can filter through treks based on one factor. Website can have a feature to search a trek based on multiple factors like difficulty, time of the year, type etc. Additionally, would be a very unique feature if you could add in a “date” search too. Eg: if someone wanted to be on a trek on a special day (say summit on their birthday) having such “date search” feature would be a unique addition to the trek selection experience.

Change password feature

Hey all, In case we already reset the first password that IH provided, there isn’t any option to update the password on the website. The current procedure to update the password is clicking on “Forgot password” on the login page. This is tedious given an email is sent with a temporary password and it is only then we are prompted to update it once again. It would be an easy procedure if there is just a change password feature on our profile asking for the Old password and new one. Thank you.

Mandate on Dimox Tablet.

I am being in the first time hiking category, i am not sure whether i can request this kind of topic or not. But i would like to request regarding the dimox use for aclimaitization and diuritrics purpose. I strongly believe that “every pill as a ill” without knowing the ADR and other crucial side effects indicator of a pill, its not a good idea to recommend everyone to take 250mg dose of dymox every 24hr. If there are other natural alternative approaches which support aclimatization for any ones body, the team has to see the possibility for such option. With my limited knowledge, i know soaked methi seeds acts like natural diuritrics. If there is such alternates which support the body for aclimatization please do consider forcing such approaches rather than forcing with holopathic pill. I prefer to be natural and wish to live in nature centric living approah. Hence i am making this suggestion. If possible please try not considering non medication approaches only. Since prevention is better than cure, so why do we need to put ourselves into such mess. where we consume something for some purpose along with it we will also get some side effects, on which oue body has to strggle in the future.

Food

I am bengali from west bengal, childhood in Nagaland, your food option does not have anything non-veg, i had to select pure veg, this made me a bit sad. i think there will be a point of time when i will definitely crave for something non-veg. I wish there was an option for non-veg.
